Immy’s Story

I first came about Leonard Gould when I performed my speech about my athletics at Canterbury Rugby Club's Sponsorship Lunch, in April 2022.

Feeling nervous was an understatement, and I had no comprehension about whether I would be able to reach anyone from this. However, David was incredibly kind, and offered to sponsor me - which I will always be eternally grateful for. Not only financially, but Leonard Gould's support this past year has been amazing. I have received help without expectation, and belief in my capability to perform no matter the circumstance. With this support, I have been able to fund my athletics career this past year alone, helping me to afford new apparel to keep up with competitors, travel to competitions as far as Manchester and Sheffield, as well as paying for training and competition fees which continue to increase.

Amazing Progress

“Last weekend, I competed at one of my biggest competitions of the season - and it did not disappoint! On day one, I was able to achieve over a one second personal best in the 100m Hurdles, another personal best in the Shot Putt, and a few-years season's best in the 200m. This was able to put me in the strongest position of my previous Heptathlons yet. Day two continued this momentum, throwing another personal best in the Javelin, as well as running a near-four second personal best in the 800m!

This meant that I scored over a 200 point personal best in my final score, placing me 6th as an U23 in this National competition, as well as 10th overall in the UK as an U23. I am ecstatic with this progress, and am aiming for even more to come over the rest of the season.

Maidstone River Festival

Leonard Gould is proud to be a corporate sponsor for the 2023 Maidstone River Festival.

The River Festival is a free event for everyone, run and self-funded by local volunteers.

The River Festival started 40 years ago and people of all ages in Maidstone have great affection for what was the county town’s biggest annual event. They have dressed up boats, raft races, fun and games for all the family.

There will be illuminated boats in the evening, and it will all end with a big bang as an award-winning fireworks display will go off from the top of Fremlin Walk in the town centre.
